Surprise Birthday Party

The Sugar Confetti Shop was featured in this sweet surprise party from You Are My Fav.

My niece turned twelve last weekend so as a special surprise, I flew to Minneapolis to help my sister pull off a surprise party (yes, I’m the cool aunt and Beck is the youngest cousin so naturally the favorite). Everything from the color palette to the favors were based off of  the theme Maren’s favorite things. Here’s a look at the results.

I have to admit, I’m not really familiar with what 12-year-olds think is cool nowadays so I was a bit stumped creating the party plan. We ended up having a photo booth (which was a huge hit), a sit-down dinner with a menu they could customize, haiku writing (about the birthday girl), and then I taught them some group games. They were hilariously loud and over excited about everything. Ah, middle school. One girl deemed the party, “Pinterest worthy,” so I’m going to consider it a success.

TRICK OR TREAT....A Purple Halloween Party!

We are so excited to share this HALLOWEEN PARTY we styled in purple and black. Cute Halloween decorations, DIY's and fabulous products from The Sugar Confetti Shop can be found all over this cute party!
We hope you enjoy, and can use some of the ideas to plan your own Halloween bash!

We took dollar store skeletons and spray painted them black.

Dollar store glass candle stick holders can be glittered using Modge Podge.  Hot glue some spiders onto the candles to complete the look.

Add spiders to your cotton candy for a web look!

Retro Cat cupcake picks.

Purple everywhere!

Another dollar store item we spray painted. Our ice cream cups double as candy cups.  Add twine to complete the look.

Pile Apple cider donuts on a cake stand and you have a great center piece!

We added a purple witches hat to our skeleton for some color.

Dress up your French Milk bottles with a ghost face!

Goodie Bags

Black Raspberry ice-cream anyone?   Spray paint a couple of mini pumpkins for some color and place on a  milk glass cake stand.  Paint and glitter your own spoons to match your theme!

We love these place mats!

Decor included tissue decorations and purple balloons!

Add some faces to your mason jars, add a sweet paper straw and some purple Gatorade and your kids will love you!

Don't forget to hot glue an ant to the paper straw for a little creepiness!

Decorate your party table with these cute paper polka dot placemats! You will receive 25 sheets per order on heavy duty paper.

Spa Birthday Party

Check out this cute Spa Birthday Party by girl. inspired. Lots of goodies from The Sugar Confetti Shop are featured.

They held the party at home and decorated the space with plush fabrics and inviting foliage.  Plants were gathered from around the house and supplemented with a few new orchids, and some inexpensive house plants.  Ornamental cabbages, in particular, are cheap and add such great color and texture to the surroundings.Glass apothecary jars and white ceramic bowls were rounded up and repurposed to hold bath salts, soaps, cotton balls, hair towel wraps, and other necessities.   Banana smoothies are the Birthday Girl's favorite.
To accompany spa time,  the girls wear little homemade slip-on robes and a hair wrap.  Oh my!  These were such a big hit and took about one day of work to sew all of them up – not too bad!  They look comfortable in their spa gear, no?  Neck pillows were on clearance at Joann’s and homemade covers were also made for them really fast out of a fuzzy white minky fabric.
The girls soaked their feet and received pedicures.
And…the cake.  It was a  three layer chocolate cake with dark chocolate filling and buttercream frosting.   It had piped fern-like leaf-like shapes on it.  What really makes the cake is the awesome milk glass jadeite cake stand!!
For party favors, each girl got their own make-up bag containing a lip gloss, cute pen, and emery board.  There was enough room to add their bath salts and soap, as well as their hair wrap.  They also got to take home their robes.
Supplies:
Jadeite Milk Glass Cake Stand, chevron favor bags, drink containers, chevron straws:  Sugar Confetti Shop

Halloween Party Ideas

We have everything you need to throw a spooktacular Halloween Party!
Invite your favorite little ghosties over for a Halloween bash with tasty snacks and great decorations!

Start with an easy to make DIY invite.

Materials used to make these invitations

  • Spider webs
  • Small black boxes (if you don't have black you can paint them)
  • A bunch of googley eyes (20+ eyes per box is good)
  • Paper to print the invitation details on.  Make sure you use phases like "We'll be watching for you" and "Eye hope you can make it"

Put them together

Line the box with the spider webs.
Fill the box with eyeballs.
Measure the inside of the lid, and create your invitation wording on your computer to fit.
Put the lid on the box, and send it off to your guests!  We purchased everything for these invites at the dollar store.
Fun Balloons from the Shop!

We love to give favors, and this one was so easy!  We used French Plastic Milk Bottles, Washi Tape and Bakers Twine from the shop.
No time to bake?  Layer Halloween Oreo cookies on a cake stand, add a few spiders, and you have a great center piece for your table.  We used 6 bags of Oreo's from Target for the 12" cake stand above.
How cute are these fun and easy cupcakes!  Cut paper straws in half, make slits at the ends, and add witch shoes. You can cut shoes out of foam or card stock.
Get plain wooden utensils from the shop, and add glitter for a festive party look.  First use Mod Podge, add your glitter, after it dries, add another coat of Mod Podge.
Mason Jar Lids are perfect for a party!  Dress up your mason jars with cute pumpkin faces, and add orange soda.
For a little creepiness, add ants or spiders to the straws using a little hot glue!
For our guests that don't drink soda, we had Milk Bottles on hand.  Fancy them up with some sprinkles.  Melt chocolate, dip rim of milk bottle in the chocolate and then dip in sprinkles.
These 27" Paper Fan Spiders were perfect for our Halloween party setting.
Don't forget the goodie bags! Candy, candy and more candy!

36" Halloween balloons, white cake stand, 27 inch spider paper fan, orange chevron goodie bags, plastic milk bottles, vintage glass milk bottles, baker twine, washi tape, paper straws, wooden utensils are from The Sugar Confetti Shop.
